Roles and rights

Roles in projects

Four different roles can be assigned to the actors in a project. Each status has different rights and permissions – but these only impact on new elements in a project (descriptions, assessments and documents).

  1. Owner
  2. Administrator
  3. Member
  4. Guest

Ownership is automatically given to the person who is starting up the project. This owner is solely authorized to delete a project.

Accepting members and defining their roles

In each project there is a menu headed "Members". Persons who have signed up and whose email is recognized can be accepted into a project and need to have a role assigned.

Granting rights to actors (automatic assignment of rights)

A newly accepted actor who has had a role assigned will be granted instant and automatic rights for newly created (!) elements of the project.

Shared diary entries are automatically visible for actors except for guests. Private diary entries are only visible for those who have entered them.

Attention! New actors have no automatic rights to preexisting entries (except diary entries). If new actors need access rights to such earlier elements, they have to be manually set within each element.

Granting rights to actors (manual assignment of rights)

In the metadata section, rights to descriptions, assessments and documents can be granted or withdrawn individually and at all times.
